Josie Jayworth

Josie is the Environmental Innovation Fellow at the Yale Center for Business and Environment and the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale. She is passionate about supporting students as they explore innovative mechanisms for financing and deploying climate solutions. In her role at Yale, she will work closely with student entrepreneurs, faculty, alumni, and affiliates to grow the climate technology ecosystem and accelerate the scaling of new ideas and solutions.

Josie recently obtained a PhD in Chemistry from Yale University. She worked as part of the Brudvig lab at the Energy Sciences Institute, focusing on the attachment of small molecules onto semiconducting nanoparticulate metal oxides for solar fuel applications. During her time at Yale, Josie has also been very active in bringing STEM outreach activities to the New Haven community.

Before moving to New Haven, Josie completed her Bachelor of Science at Fordham University in the Bronx and spent a year with AmeriCorps/Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Montana. In her spare time, Josie loves to run, ski, and go on hikes with her dog.
