Join BIG’s Investment Committee member Nancy Alexander, Managing Director Laura K. Rodriguez and Associate Intern Aashna Gupta for a lively panel discussion about venture capital investing within our university network.

Laura Kauer Rodriguez is Managing Director at Bulldog Innovation Group, a Yale-affinity venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage companies linked to the Yale community. Previously, she advised venture-backed companies on business planning and growth strategies in New York. Laura honed her finance and strategy acumen during her career as an investment banker at Barclays, executing ~$20 billion in M&A deals and corporate finance transactions, and as a consultant with Accenture, advising the U.S. Federal Government on strategic planning. Laura holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Aashna Gupta is a 2nd year MBA student at the Yale School of Management and associate intern at Bulldog Innovation Group. She started her career at Google India advising clients on their digital marketing strategy and then moved to an ecommerce early-stage startup where she led fundraising, investor relations and FP&A. Before coming to Yale, she did a pre-MBA internship at a Fosun Capital, an early stage Chinese fund, where she evaluated the indian startup ecosystem and presented investment opportunities. Last summer, she worked at Barclays in New York within the tech investment banking group.

Nancy Alexander (TD ’79 / SOM ’84) is an organizational development consultant, team and executive leadership coach, master facilitator, and principal of Lumenance Consulting LLC. She began her career in marketing, strategic planning, and new product development with Procter & Gamble, American Express, and Bank of America before becoming an entrepreneur and angel investor. She is a member of the Bulldog Innovation Group investment committee and is also a partner in Golden Seeds, the largest firm investing exclusively in women entrepreneurs.

Yale Women Innovators is a weekly speaker series designed to foster community discussion, idea sharing, best practices, business fundamentals, networking, and team-building opportunities in support of Yale women students, alumni, faculty, and staff interested in entrepreneurship and innovation at any level. The series includes a mix of breakfast and afternoon talks, each of which includes time for Q&A.
