Blue Innovation: Innovations Within UN Work That You Hear Little About

  • Horchow Hall GM Room 55 Hillhouse Ave. New Haven, CT (map)

How do changemakers working within and alongside existing institutions — like the United Nations — tackle pressing issues through innovation and collaboration? Join us for a panel discussion with 2017 World Fellow Rita Sciarra, Strategic Advisor for Innovation, Partnerships and Economic Inclusion for UNDP Mexico, and 2018 World Fellow Elpida Rouka, Former Chief of Staff of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Syria, as they discuss innovations during times of crisis and innovation led by and designed alongside the communities the UN serves.

This event is part of the Global Innovation Series, an exciting new partnership between Yale’s Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program and the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (Tsai CITY), established by 2017 World Fellow and Tsai CITY Innovator in Residence Baljeet Sandhu. As part of the Knowledge Equity Initiative, the series involves a set of events and discussions hosted around Yale’s campus to explore and celebrate the innovative work of groundbreaking global changemakers across industries, geographies, and cultures. Each event is built in partnership with other centers across the university to connect World Fellows with the community and to encourage multidisciplinary debate and knowledge exchange.
